A kutyák életkori megoszlása tekintetében két korosztályból került ki nagyobb számú egyed, a fiatal, de már ivarérett és a középkorú, de minden korosztályból gyűjtöttünk és vizsgáltunk mintát. A felboncolt kutyák nagy prostate histology nem volt ivartalanítva. A kasztráción átesett állatoknál csak régi keletű herélési sebet találtunk a vizsgálat prostate histology. A vizsgálatunkba vont kutyák esetében több prosztata elváltozást is megfigyeltünk, melyek közül a leggyakrabban a prostate histology állományában a cysta képződés és az idült gyulladás volt kimutatható.

Két esetben egyidejőleg találtuk meg a két említett elváltozást. Az idült gyulladás és a prosztata állományát érintő cysta képződés is egyaránt az idős 10 év feletti kan kutyákban volt megtalálható.

Az általunk feldolgozott mintákban 5 esetben lehetett prosztata atrophiát igazolni, mely minden esetben összefüggésben volt a kan korábbi kasztrációjával. A prosztata atrophia szövettani megjelenése a kasztrált kanokban életkortól függetlenül azonos képet mutatott.

Az irodalmi adatok prostate histology elvártakkal ellentétben, a vizsgálatok során csak 2 esetben tudtuk szövettanilag is igazolni a benignus prosztata hyperplasiát.

A vizsgált prosztaták egyikében sem sikerült kimutatni makroszkópos és szövettani vizsgálattal az acinusokban konkrementum képződést, squamosus metaplasiát, tályogképződéssel járó gyulladást vagy daganatot.

Fiatal, még nem ivarérett kanokban fejletlen parenchymával rendelkező prosztatát találtunk, mely mind méretében, mind szövettani felépítésében is eltért a kifejlődött egyedekétől.

Az eredmények vizsgálata során összevetettük a nem ivartalanított kutyák prosztatájának és heréinek tömegét eltekintve az állatok életkorától. Az összehasonlítás gyenge lineáris összefüggést mutatott a két adat között vagyis a prosztata és a herék mérete között nincs szoros kapcsolat.

A prosztata és a prosztatán áthaladó húgycsői szakasz átmérőjének összehasonlításakor a prosztata átmérők növekedése nem mutatott összefüggést a húgycső prosztatán áthaladó szakaszának az átmérőjével.

Unlike what we expected based on the literature, we could verify histologically the benign prostatic hyperplasia only in 2 cases.
